Interview advices

The following advices may help you perform better during the interview:

Dress properly with a professional manner
It is important for the interviewer to feel that you are serious about this opportunity. Dress properly, be confident and polite. Pay attention to your gesture. Smile with good eye contact. Do not lean back against the chair or cross your arms. Do not use too many gestures or colloquialism. Have a few seconds silence to think your answer and organize your sentence. Your answer should not come out bit by bit, without logic.

Understand the company and the position before interview
Read the Job Description that Coboom sent you in detail. Ask consultant if you have any questions. Our consultants will share necessary information to you when considering your candidacy. You can seek more information from other channels like web. If he or she cannot provide you a satisfactory answer and the answer is important to you, you will be given a constructive suggestion on how to raise your questions to the interviewer properly.

Listen carefully and answer to the point with supporting information
Repeat the question to make sure you understand it correctly when you are not sure of the interviewer's meaning. Do not cut down the interviewer's words assuming you already get the meaning. Do not just give a general answer such as "I have no problem with that". You need to give examples or describe how you did that previously or how you are going to do it in that scenario. Your explanation must be clear, concise, and to the point.

Do not fall into "Interview Skill" track
People spend time reading articles on interview skills. A professional recruiter will feel quite boring when the candidate answers questions or raises questions following the trained way. For example, the trained candidate always asks¡°what will be my career path if I take up this role¡±? or "what kind of people will succeed in your organization?", etc. These questions can be asked in some situation but are not meaningful in many situations.

Do not raise compensation topic during interview unless interviewer asks
Coboom consultant will know your current compensation package in detail as well as your expectation when considering your candidacy. This detailed information is already presented in the recommendation report to the client. Thus, you do not need to raise this to the client again unless you are asked. Your questions should be focused on the job, the leadership and the organization.

Explain your reason for resignation properly and consistently
Reason for leaving is a must question. Our consultant must ask each candidate about reasons for leaving their previous companies and dynamics on considering the job opportunities. Our consultant will report this objectively to the client if he or she thinks the reasons are acceptable and understandable. Otherwise, he or she will not recommend you or even recommend, the consultant will let the client know the concerns. Tell the interviewer the same reasons. Pay more attention to how you explain it when your reason is that you cannot get along well with your supervisor, or you have concern on the leadership and culture. Do not go deep into it and let the interviewer feel you are hard to work with or you are not flexible in working with people with different personality or cultural background.
We encourage you express your realities and real thoughts to the interviewer in order to get a true picture for both parties
