Production Manager:
DUTIES: 1.Direct the day to day activities of all production departments within the facility. Indirectly supervise all production personnel and support through management and development of the first-line supervisory team. 2.Make recommendations to the Operation Manager as to hiring, termination, and the advancement, promotion or any change of status of employees under this supervision. Recommend work hour schedule changes, including the overtime planning, and plan facility-staffing requirements. 3.Interface with the Sales and Marketing organizations on quality and customer related issues.Support Corporate goal of World Class Customer Service by achieving 100% on-time delivery to Customer Request Dates, with Zero Defects, and the quickest possible lead-time. Work with all facility resources (HR, Engineering, Production and Material Control, Maintenance, QA, etc.) to accomplish this via staffing, adding capacity via existing or new processes, working with the business system, reducing set-up time, improving productivity and rates, working with vendors, expediting customer orders, and completing jobs on-time. 4.Implement Quality Policy following ISO 9000 guidelines. This involves control of all production processes, the review and approval of all new tooling, new product designs, or new and revised manufacturing processes. It involves daily interaction with the QA and supervisory team in dealing with MRB issues, Customer Complaints, and Corrective Action and resolution of them. Monitor training and facilitate team activities, and participate in empowerment process. 5.Assist Operation Manager in planning, facility and machine utilization, capital budgeting, and any other activities required to meet Corporate and facility goals. 6.Maintain current operational knowledge of all production areas. Continuously devise special methods and procedures that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the facility. This includes management of raw material, WIP, and finished good inventories. 7.Meet financial objectives by managing the overall budget, expenses, overhead, and efficiency of the departments under direct responsibility. Recommend to the Operation Manager those actions required to bring the production operations under budget control. Optimize dollars shipped per person. QUALIFICATIONS: -Minimum of five years or more of manufacturing experience. Must have some knowledge of the manufacturing systems in the facility -BSME or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred -Must have excellent people, organizational, and communication skills -Must be able to handle stress, pressure, and make quick decisions -Must have general knowledge of company-wide systems (Quality, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Finance) -PC Skills, including spread sheets, word processing, database, and CAD/CAM packages -Good Safety and Quality mentality
