The Director of Operations shall ideally possess the following competencies:
, Minimum 15 years industry experience in an electronics manufacturing environment with a minimum of 7 years in a middle to senior operations management position.
, Minimum BS/BA degree in relevant Engineering, Logistics or Operations Management.
, Very strong interpersonal skills. Staff management experience with proven track record of successfully managing world class organizations in China.
, Capable of productively managing a high mix, low to medium volume manufacturing operation with world class results.
, Ability to communicate & interface effectively with local & international clients, suppliers and government agencies.
, Strong understanding of accounting principles both local and US GAAP, particular emphasis in cost accounting.
, Strong knowledge of SMT, THT & electromechanical assembly manufacturing processes.
, Quality auditor training and quality system deployment experience within an ISO framework.
, Working knowledge of formal problem solving skills inclusive of Statistical Process Control techniques and methodologies such as 6 sigma.
, In depth understanding of MRPII/ERP system logic, Oracle or SAP preferred.
, Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management including good working level understanding of production planning and purchasing procedures.
, Understanding of Bill of Materials and Engineering documentation, inclusive of ECO/N practices.
, Minimum of a basic understanding of electronics and/or electrical circuits.
, Understanding of industrial engineering concepts in time & motion studies, line balancing, creation of Bill of Operations, work instruction development, etc.

, Directly manage the functions of new product introduction program management, purchasing, logistics & import/export, warehousing, manufacturing engineering, production planning, production, customer service and facilities. Has dotted line management responsibilities for the quality function.
, Create and manage annual operating plans consistent with company objectives and strategy.
, Generate and properly manage operating budgets and capital expenditure budgets.
, Generate and manage the operation¨s key performance metrics and reports that allow for timely and effective value added decisions to be made in order to run the operation. Provide monthly reviews of operating metrics to senior management.
, Manage the creation and control of Standard Operating Procedures & manufacturing documentation required to ensure that products are built productively and of superior quality consistent with the highest company standards and customer expectations.
