Merchandise Manager:

Responsibilities:
?Manage vendor matrix
o Build and maintain day to day factory relationships
o Present new options:
?Countries of origin
?Production options
?New factories
?Work within financial model to achieve margin requirement:
o Precosting
o Costing, submit both FOB and ELC/LDP
o Final negotiation, in conjunction with PBG NY Sourcing direction
?Meet or beat PBG targets
o Expert in costing raw materials, trims, finished product, etc
o Superior negotiation skills which results in the ability to meet target pricing
?Strong knowledge of strategic pricing relating to global origin (a) Sourcing capabilities (b) Currency issues (c) Transit times and freight cost
?Ensure factory compliance
?Leverage business plans to help achieve production planning and gross margins as it pertains to fabric, trim and garments.
?Oversee development for fabric and trim
?Direct PD team on allocation of sample development
?Ensure TD, PD and Production work together to achieve T&A and brand integrity as it relates to retailer “best practice?requirements
?Oversee Production process to ensure all approvals are executed to achieve on time delivery and quality garments.
?Offer ideas for new products and categories appropriate to brand needs

Requirements:
?Bachelor degree, majored in apparel or related
?at least 3 year manager experience
?Technical expertise in fabric and garment construction
?Experience working with global factories and suppliers
?Some travel required
?In depth knowledge of design and production lifecycles
?Proficiency in English both written and verbal
?Exposure to dealing with factories and supplier worldwide basis
?Excellent problem solving skills
?Strong understanding of retailer testing compliance for fabric/ trims and garments
?Must be analytical with the ability to understand garment costing breakdown and CM’s in different countries
